Victorian England, 1840. You are the head of a respected but financially troubled family estate; rooms are closed off to save on upkeep and heating, outside grounds have gone to seed, and the façade is in desperate need of restoration.
It is far from the glory days of the estate, but you have new hope. A significant inheritance has made possible the restoration of the grand old manor house and rehabilitation of the family's reputation in the county of Cambridge!
Obsession captures the experience of Regency and Victorian England—the beloved world of Jane Austen & Anthony Trollope—in a way that transports family and friends to that unique time and place.

Tomorrow evening I will process all the pledges with completed surveys. The remaining 13 surveys not completed will stay open a while longer. When I process the surveys, credit cards on file will be charged for shipping and add-ons. You will be unable to change your order after tomorrow evening, but you can always update your address.
If you have any questions or concerns related to your pledge, please contact me, and we'll clear the issue up before locking down.

Custom Meeple "Unboxing" and Pledge Manager Update

In one week (February 9th), I will lock down completed pledge surveys in the pledge manager, which will finalize your mix of items (not extensive with this Kickstarter) and bill credit cards on file. If you want to make any changes, please do so over the next week. (Note: If your address changes between the 9th and when the game ships, that can be updated.)
As of this morning, 663 surveys are complete with 19 still pending. I will NOT lock down those unresponsive 19 on the 9th; I will continue to contact those folks via email up until the date we ship.
Also note that the "Late Pledge" option will end on the 9th. After that date, pre-orders in the BackerKit Pre-Order Store will be at market price ($54 for Obsession, $19 for the Wessex Expansion, normal shipping rates).

Artwork Submission (Sneak Peek), Schedule, Pledge Manager Status

Artwork Submission
I am happy to inform you that earlier this week the final artwork was approved and officially submitted to Panda Games. Working with Panda has been a revelation; they possess extraordinary experience and have supplied a wealth of knowledge.
And the results are fantastic! A sampling of the artwork (super close-ups) that will be unboxed in about a month when we receive our pre-production copy.

Schedule
The project remains very much on schedule with opportunities to improve the August delivery date if there are no setbacks. There are two prototype steps ahead:
Manufactured component samples (due within 2 weeks)
Pre-Production copy (complete game sample due end of February)
Of course, we will have an unboxing video for both events.

Pledge Manager
Of the 679 pledge surveys, 646 are complete, leaving 33 to go. If you haven't visited the pledge manager or if you want to update your pledge, the manager will remain open until 2/9. If you'd like a direct link to your pledge, please contact me via the Kickstarter messaging system. Even if you made a $1 pledge to watch the project and are not going to get a copy of the game, please visit the pledge manager and drop that $1 into what is called the "Tip Jar" just to close out your pledge.

Survey Status, Shipping Charges, and Production Update

Survey Status
Survey returns are excellent with over 80% in the first week. Thank you!
For those who have not filled out your surveys (this involves collecting shipping addresses, confirming pledges, etc.), there is plenty of time; however, I do want make sure everyone has received the email (several did not). If you did not get an email linking you to your survey, please message me, and I will send you a direct link to your pledge.
The pledge manager will remain open for a few weeks yet, so feel free to adjust your pledge as needed.
Shipping Charges
No one should be paying $40 shipping unless you live in Antarctica or some remote corner of the Earth. The $40 shipping charge was a default; if you have a $40 shipping charge, message me. My shipping table included everyone who contacted me, and none of those charges are over $22.00.

Production Update
We have our first tangible production effort underway. We will be getting samples of custom meeples before the month is out (they are currently being fabricated)! Even meeples have to visit HR and get processed...

All Surveys Sent

The "Smoke Test" appears to have gone well. All surveys have now been sent. Again, please contact me or the BackerKit customer service folks with any questions.
The Pledge Manager will be open into February, so all will have plenty of time to work out any issues related to shipping, add-ons, etc.
